Meeting
Minutes- October
17, 2002
Marie's
Vineyard Homeowner's Association Quarterly Meeting was held at McKenna
Elementary and many homeowner's attended.
Board
Members:
Sarah Boyer, President
Mark Russell, Vice President
Kelly Remy, Secretary
Jim Cunningham, New Secretary
Linda Schoonmaker, Treasurer
Non-officer Board Members:
Ron Formanek
Tina Wagner
WELCOME:
Everyone Introduced.
FINANCIAL
REPORT: Linda Schoonmaker reviewed our finances, presenting
a budget. There was general approval of the budget. We are doing
well, budgets seem good to pay for maintenance of the common grounds
and insurance. We do not anticipate any future raising of dues.
We now have insurance of common grounds and insurance of board members
- similar to what Kempton Down's has. Their was no insurance benefit
for having the ponds fenced.
DUES:
Dues of $120 per household are due on 1-1-02. Bills will be submitted
reasonably soon.
RE-ELECTIONS:
The board was re-elected. Jim Cunningham was nice enough to accept
a board position as secretary. Kelly Remy will maintain a board
position, but as a general board member, stepping down as secretary.
HALLOWEEN
PARTY: Tina Wagner reviewed an upcoming children's party.
NEIGHBORWOODS:
Tina Wagner reviewed an upcoming tree replanting project. This is
scheduled for the morning of Saturday, November 23rd. Tina Wagner
has graciously volunteered to take care of mailings for this.
PONDS:
A pond maintenance day was scheduled.
PARK
DUMPING: This is still a problem. We should mention it in mailings
and future general meetings.
INDECENT
EXPOSURES: Some complaints about indecent exposures.
SPEEDING:
Speeding is only slightly improved. Mark Russell discussed some
city programs to help this. The most appealing was a citizen speed
patrol. Speed bumps were discussed, but met with disapproval. There
are liability issues that make the city not want children at play
signs. Due to the same liability issues, the board is cautious about
having similar signs.
LANDSCAPING:
We reviewed the covenants, showing that grass is needed between
the sidewalk and the street. Tina Wagner plans to remind a resident
of this that is redoing their lawn.
ARCHITECTURE
COMMITTEE: In January, the HOA takes over the architecture committee
from the builder. We will need volunteers for this then.
COVENANT
CHANGES: Changes will be voted on with the general mailing soon,
which will include a yes/no option for each change, and the bill
for dues.
