GENERAL MEETING - MARGARET MC KENNY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

In attendance:
President Mark Russell
Vice-president Ken Broussard
Board Member Ron Formanek
Secretary Jim Cunningham and 8 of 77 homeowners.

President Russell called the meeting to order at 1906.

In the absence of Treasurer Linda Schoonmaker, President Russell reported on results of operations for the period ended May 31, 2004 and the proposed budget for calendar year 2004. A current balance of $19,270.75 was reported and an annual budget of a budget of $9,055. Expenditures to date total $2,984.35.

President Russell suggested that all homeowners review the outstanding web site prepared by Laura Christian at www.mariesvineyard.com

Ron Formanek reported that pond maintenance was undertaken by a contract with S&W Tractor this spring, rather than volunteer labor (which has been minimal), at considerable savings. The total cost for the initial service was $569, and future maintenance is estimated to take three hours at $65.00 per hour, considerably less than expenditures in the past for renting the necessary equipment and doing it ourselves.

There followed a general discussion of some community problem areas, to wit., Tree and front yard maintenance, parking of junk or other vehicles, and adherence to speed limits. It was concluded that the Board should communicate with the membership from time to time with reminders on these subjects, with particular emphasis on those who seem to be remiss.

A thought was introduced that speed bumps might help in controlling vehicle speeds, but aside from the fact that they tend to constitute a noise nuisance for adjacent homes, the city does not favor them on public streets.

There are still four members who have failed to pay Association dues for 2004. It was concluded that the Board should make direct contact with the delinquent parties, and if that fails to produce results, to explore other alternatives contemplated in the Covenants.

With the sparseness of attendance, President Russell suggested that membership meetings be reduced to one a year, possibly in connection with some social function, with special notice of such other meetings as might become necessary. This is a subject that will be explored by the Board.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 1940.
